Volunteers are at the heart of the Wednesday Club. They bring kindness, energy, and companionship to our members, helping to make every session feel welcoming and enjoyable.
Our volunteers support older adults in many practical ways — from offering a steady arm while walking to helping people move comfortably around the room. Some kindly act as chaperones on our minibus, making sure everyone gets to and from the club safely. Others lend a hand in the kitchen, prepare drinks, or help set up the room so activities can run smoothly.
They also play a big role in the fun! Volunteers help lead activities like gentle exercise, music therapy, games, crafts, and more, keeping everyone engaged and smiling. Many also stay connected with members outside club hours through friendly phone calls or visits, offering companionship when it’s needed most.
Our volunteers help create a safe, caring, and positive environment by following safeguarding guidelines and ensuring everyone feels supported. Their enthusiasm encourages participation and boosts the overall well-being of our members. All volunteers hold an up-to-date DBS check for the safety and peace of mind of those we serve.
In short, our volunteers help make the Wednesday Club a warm, lively, and joyful place to be.
